Literary Lottery?

Let’s help make some dreams come true! 

Face it, being an author is no easy task and we all can use all the help we can get. So I had this idea on top of the current idea. How about once a week we have something similar to a lottery/raffle to help someone out, whether it’s with money that’ll be used for self-publishing cost, book promotion/advertising, bookmarks/postcards, or anything that’ll assist one of our own in their creative endeavors. I’m not saying the pot will grow to $1 million, but sometimes $100 even comes in handy when you’re faced with the cost associated with your passion in addition to your everyday expenses to live. 

So here’s how it’ll work, and this is just a proposal that’s not set in stone as of yet. If you see any flaws in the system please let me know so that I may address them and perfect them. The entire system is built around honor/integrity that I hope you will adhere to. I would like to kick this off October 1^st so at present use this page to chime in with any suggestions. 

Rules: 

1)     You must post on this page with the words “I’m in!” and contribute 50 cents each week as a participation fee. You must also have a live website.

2)     The more people you tell about onemillionreaders.com, the increased potential exist for the pot to grow. So don’t keep it all to yourself. The more people who know, the greater probability of them participating.

3)     Every Monday at 11:11pm, I’ll randomly draw a name from those posted below who have stated “I’m in”, so make sure your email address/contact info is correct.

4)     The name drawn is the week’s winner! Their name will be posted on the site by 12 midnight, along with the amount of that week’s total winnings, whether it’s $100 or $1000 (more or less). The size of the pot all depends on the number of participants, but you are obligated to no more than $1 (.50 cent participation fee/.50 cent to the winner). Regardless of the total amount, there will always be a winner.

5)     Once a winner is selected, everyone who posted with the words “I’m in” must Paypal that winning person of the week exactly $.50. You have until 12 midnight on Wednesday of the same week to do so. You should definitely check back here often to see if you did or did not win and what your obligation is to the winning individual.

6)     If the winner notifies me that all proceeds were not received, an audit will be done to determine who did not abide by participation rules. Once that person is identified, they are ineligible to participate any further and their name/website address will be posted for all visitors to see (not a good thing). You either have integrity with this or you don’t and you only get one chance.

7)     The following Monday, the process is repeated, creating a new winner – hopefully YOU! 

If you decide you no longer wish to participate in any future drawings, you must notify me immediately. Once you state “I’m in!” then you’re in until you tell me otherwise. If at anytime I feel this is not going smoothly, I have the right to discontinue it at anytime.
